From October 28th to 29th, the "2023 World Chinese Innovative Medical Materials Summit Forum" was successfully held in Changzhou, Jiangsu. This is a grand event in the five major fields of joint production, education, research, medicine, and investment. The purpose of this forum is to promote the docking and integration of various fields, thereby understanding the real needs and applications of the medical device field, and promoting practical cooperation and exchange. The forum invited 40 Chinese experts from both domestic and international sources to share their successful experiences in medical device innovation and entrepreneurship.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zheng Chenggong from the School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. At the opening ceremony, Academician Dai Qirong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering first delivered a speech, emphasizing the promoting role of this forum in the field of medical devices, encouraging learning and growth through experience, and achieving further development of the Chinese medical device industry. Professor Qin Ling, a member of the European Academy of Sciences and a member of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, attended the event and delivered a speech expressing his sincere expectations for the forum. Professor Gu Hongchen, Vice Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Wang Yunbing, Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Sichuan University, also delivered guest speeches at the opening ceremony, wishing the forum a complete success. Professor Zheng Chenggong, the chairman of the conference, gave an introduction report, emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in the current medical device field, and calling on friends from all walks of life to work together to expand the international market of China's medical device field.

The agenda of this forum revolves around five thematic speeches and seven main themes, including the construction of a biopharmaceutical incubation platform, sharing of clinical innovation and transformation experience, sharing of academic innovation and transformation experience, sharing of medical industry investment experience, sharing of industrial innovation and upgrading experience, exchange of medical equipment technology and products, and introduction of medical equipment innovation products.

Academician Zhang Yingze of the Chinese Academy of Engineering gave a special report on the dialectical relationship between basic research and application, emphasizing the value of basic research in achieving clinical applications. Professor Wang Songjun from the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army focuses on "domestic substitution and research innovation of orthopedic surgical instruments and equipment in China", emphasizing the need for not only domestic substitution but also independent innovation in the field of medical devices. Former senior advisor to Anhong Capital Private Equity Fund, Yin Jixiong, introduced the development status of medical devices in China under geopolitical influence, providing a new direction for the export of medical devices. Director Zheng Yefeng from Tencent Tianyan Laboratory shared a special report on "Opportunities and Challenges in Innovative Research and Development of Medical Artificial Intelligence", which broadened the thinking of innovative development of medical devices. In addition, the forum also invited 34 Chinese experts from both domestic and international sources to share their experiences in the innovation and transformation of medical devices, providing valuable suggestions for participants who wish to carry out related transformation work.

The two-day meeting was fully booked, with attendees studying diligently and actively participating in the discussion segment after the report. Participants expressed that this is a unique event in the field of medical devices, and China needs more such forums to stimulate the thinking buds of enterprises, academia, and clinical healthcare workers in innovation and entrepreneurship.

The closing ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Zheng Chenggong, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the guests, conference organizers, co organizers, organizers, and conference staff.
